What SayScreen won't do in your account
A recording works in a real account on a real site. Ordinary changes really happen: creating sample items, editing, saving, archiving and switching settings. But unless your request asks for them, SayScreen won’t:
- delete things, including removing, deactivating, leaving a workspace or cancelling a subscription or order
- spend money: pay, buy, check out, subscribe, upgrade or place an order
- send things to real people: send, invite, share, reply, post, comment or notify
- publish things: publish, deploy, release or make public
- sign out, change a password, change how the account signs in, change its API keys, its owner or its email address, or give another app access to it
This is checked on every click, not left to the AI’s judgment.
How to ask for one
Section titled “How to ask for one”Say it as something to do, and name what it’s done to, in the app’s own words:
- “Delete the project called Q3 Launch” allows deleting that project.
- “Show the trash” or “show where the delete button is” allows nothing.
- Money has to be for real: “show how to upgrade” isn’t enough, but “upgrade to Pro and pay with the test card” is.
- Asking for one thing never allows a bigger one: “delete a file from the repository” won’t delete the repository.
- “Cancel your subscription”, “close your account” and “leave the workspace” allow just that.
Name the exact thing. “Delete a project” can stop at a confirmation that names one, such as Delete Q3 Launch?
To show an app’s AI assistant or chatbot at work, ask it something: “ask the assistant to summarize this page”. That lets SayScreen send your question to the AI. To send something to people as well, ask for that too.
Write your request in English, so SayScreen can tell what it asks for.
Show a flow without finishing it
Section titled “Show a flow without finishing it”“Show how to send an invoice” counts as asking, so the invoice is sent. To show a flow without finishing it, say so: “just show how to send an invoice”, “stop at the confirmation” or “don’t actually send it”. Wording like this anywhere in your request holds back every final click in that video.
Your video still shows the way there, such as the Delete button and the confirmation it opens. The final button, such as Delete or Confirm, is left out: the AI says what it would do and cancels. The page can look changed for a moment, but nothing reaches your account. Buttons with nothing after them, such as Send, Pay or Sign out, aren’t clicked at all.
Passwords, card numbers and email addresses
Section titled “Passwords, card numbers and email addresses”- Password, card and ID number fields only take values your request writes out. Write out every field the form asks for, for example: “Sign up a new user with the password Demo-Pass-2026, then pay with the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242, expiry 12/34, CVC 123, ZIP 10001.” Your request is saved with the video, so only ever use test values.
- The AI never signs in for you. To record behind a sign-in, sign in yourself: see Record a site that needs a sign-in.
- Email addresses it types are made up, at example.com, unless your request gives one.
Where you’ll see it
Section titled “Where you’ll see it”The video’s activity feed, and later its Activity tab, says what was left out and why, for example Left out “Delete project”: the lesson didn’t ask to delete things. A step that was left out isn’t in the video.
Use a test account when you can
Section titled “Use a test account when you can”SayScreen catches the usual ways apps delete, pay, send and publish, but it can’t recognize every one, such as a harmless-sounding button that does something drastic. A demo or test account is the safest place to record.
