Title, thumbnail and YouTube description

Every finished video comes with what you need to post it. Open the video’s Title & thumbnail tab to find:

• Three titles under Title, each under about 60 characters, with the one most likely to be found in search first, marked Best for search.
• A short description under Description that leads with what people search for and ends with 3 to 5 hashtags.
• A thumbnail: a 1280 by 720 picture of the page from your recording, with a few big words on it.

They’re written in the language of the narration as the last part of making the video.

Copy them

Click Copy next to a title or the description, then paste it into YouTube or wherever you post. To change the wording, edit it after you paste: titles and descriptions can’t be edited in SayScreen.

Just above the hashtags, every description has the line Made with SayScreen, the AI tutorial video maker: https://sayscreen.com. You can delete it after pasting.

SayScreen doesn’t post to YouTube for you.

Change the thumbnail

• Type up to 40 characters in Thumbnail text. The picture follows along as you type.
• The last line sits on a block of color, yellow to start with. Click the swatch beside the text to pick another. The letters switch between white and dark to stay readable.
• Under Screenshot, choose which step’s screen goes behind the words. It’s there when more than one step has a screen.

Then click Download thumbnail. None of this uses minutes or needs the video to be made again.

Get new ones

Click Write new ones for new titles, a new description and a new thumbnail, with new words and a newly picked screenshot. Only your thumbnail color stays. This doesn’t use minutes.

Changing the words or the look of the video keeps the details you have, so after a big change, Write new ones brings them up to date. Record again writes new ones for the new recording, with the color back to yellow.
