Your trial, plan and minutes

SayScreen has one plan, and it starts with a trial:

• The trial is $1 today for 7 days and 5 minutes of video.
• The plan is $49 a month for 60 minutes of video, from the day the trial ends, until you cancel. A video can be up to 8 minutes long.

The trial has every feature of the plan, and each account gets one. Prices are in US dollars, and payment is by card.

Your minutes left show beside Create video and, on wider windows, under your email address in the sidebar. Settings shows how many you’ve used, under Plan & billing.

What uses minutes

Minutes measure finished video, counted to the second, when a video is done. A 2 minute 30 second video uses 2.5 minutes.

Deleting a video doesn’t give its minutes back.

When minutes refill

On the plan, your 60 minutes refill on your renewal date each month, shown in Settings as They refill on date. Unused minutes don’t carry over, and there are no extra minutes to buy.

When minutes run out

Each new recording is planned to fit the minutes you have left: SayScreen wraps the video up early rather than run over. With less than 30 seconds left, a new video can’t start, and you’ll see:

• On the plan: You’ve used this month’s 60 minutes. They refill on date.
• On the trial: You’ve used your trial’s 5 minutes. Your plan starts on date, or you can start it now.

Changes that add 5 seconds or less always go through, so you can still fix a typo with no minutes left.

Start your plan before the trial ends

Once you’ve used what the trial includes, Start my plan for $49 appears on the New video page and in Settings. It asks Start your plan now? first. Starting it charges $49 that day and gives you 60 fresh minutes, and the plan renews monthly from that day.

Before the trial ends

When the trial starts, and again shortly before it ends, SayScreen emails you the date and the amount. To stop the plan from starting, cancel in Settings before that day. See Update your card, see invoices or cancel.

If you meant to cancel and missed it, and have used under 10 minutes of video, email hey@sayscreen.com within 14 days of that charge and we’ll refund it in full.
