Editing your video

Download your video

Beside every finished video (under it on narrow windows) are two buttons:

  • Download MP4 for the video, 1920 by 1080 (1080 by 1920 for vertical videos) at 60 frames a second, ready for YouTube or anywhere else.
  • Captions (.srt) for the captions as an SRT file, for players and sites that take captions separately. There’s always one, whether or not captions are burned into the video.

The thumbnail is on the Title & thumbnail tab: click Download thumbnail for a 1280 by 720 JPEG.

Downloads are named after the video’s title, in lowercase with hyphens: How to Invite a Teammate downloads as how-to-invite-a-teammate.mp4. Only the letters a to z and numbers are kept, so a title written in another alphabet downloads as video.mp4. To change the name, click the title at the top of the video’s page, rename it, and download again. A video with no title downloads as sayscreen-video.mp4.

To share a video, download it and upload it where you want it seen. SayScreen doesn’t make share links: your videos are only for your account.

To have captions drawn onto the video itself, turn on Burn-in captions on the Look & voice tab and click Update video. They’re off to start with. See Change the look and add music.

For 30 days after your plan ends, signing in shows a list of your videos with a Download button each, for the MP4. Download captions and thumbnails while your plan is running. See How long videos are kept.
