Editing your video

Choose a narrator voice

Every video is narrated by the voice you choose under Narrator, in the Voice & music part of the New video page. You can change it later on a finished video’s Look & voice tab. The New video page starts with the voice and speed you used last in that browser, or with Mark at normal speed.

Open the Narrator list to see:

  • Favorites, the voices you’ve starred. Favorites are saved with your account, so they follow you to any browser.
  • Your voices, a voice made from your own recordings (see Narrate with your own voice).
  • Best for tutorials, clear, natural voices picked for how-to videos.
  • More voices, many more.

Type in Search voices…, or use the pills to show only Female or Male voices or a particular accent.

Click the play button next to any voice to hear it say the same line of a tutorial, so you can compare them fairly. Previews don’t use minutes.

The Speed slider goes from 0.80× to 1.20×. A slower voice makes the video a little longer.

  1. Open the video and go to the Look & voice tab.
  2. Choose another Narrator, or move the Speed slider.
  3. Click Update video.

A new narrator voices the whole script again over the same recording, and a new speed changes how fast the narration plays. Either way nothing on the site is clicked again, and minutes only go to anything the change adds to the video’s length.
